Welcome to the Club – or rather: to the Club’s website

Great to have you here and curious to explore what this is all about. I decided to start this club to make easy-to-prepare drinks, along with tips and tricks around drinks, accessible.

Who’s running the Club

Jan Persiel

I write about gin and other spirits, and I shoot photos and videos. It all started as a way to document my own learnings about this product category—meanwhile, I’ve taken on the mission of sharing that knowledge on Instagram. A gin podcast is, of course, part of the mix as well. In my “day job”, I work on design systems and brands as well as strong UI/CX for digital products.

The Beginning

It all started with a column on spirits and hospitality on the website Ribbon.team. The question of easy-to-make drinks—and their popularity—is ever-present. Tips and background on new products have also been well received. For a while, I ran this club together with Kai from bd-8. Since 2026, the club is once again a solopreneur venture.

So, what happens in the Club?

I’ve got plenty of ideas. We’ll start with what defines a Casual Friday: bringing the weekend a little closer, creating a relaxed atmosphere, and offering a perfect end-of-week drink after work. Delivered casually via email—or available to read on the website.

Here are a few things I’m also planning:

• Tips and tricks for drinks
• Organising promotions and discounts for products
• Showcasing things that impressed me
• Club extras for members (more to be revealed)
